Hiter Harris is the co-founder of both CAP91 Partners and Harris Williams. Founded in 2022, CAP91 Partners makes equity investments alongside leading private equity firms. Hiter has spent his entire professional career working with middle market companies across a wide spectrum of industries and will apply this expertise alongside a talented team to deliver value to the Fund’s investors.
Since founding Harris Williams in 1991, he has worked with his partners to build the firm into a leading global investment bank, specializing in M&A and equity financing transactions. Harris Williams now employs over 550 professionals and staff across ten offices and eight industry groups. HW is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, with offices in San Francisco, Boston, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Washington D.C., New York, London, and Frankfurt. Hiter continues to provide leadership to HW as he exemplifies and upholds the values and guiding principles on which the firm was founded.
Hiter graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Hampden-Sydney College in 1983 and earned his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1987, graduating with Distinction. Prior to co-founding Harris Williams, Hiter was a Vice President at Bowles Hollowell & Conner, a middle market M&A firm based in Charlotte, N.C.
Hiter is active in his community serving several non-profit institutions, including as Investment Committee Chair for Spider Management Company, the past Chair of the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges, past Chair of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation Board and Investment Committee, The University of Richmond, several other charitable organizations in Virginia, and as a Board member of several corporations. Hiter and Jil have three grown and accomplished children who have provided many proud moments.
